Sometime in the late 70s or early 80s in the Deep South, my father and uncle had some crazy experiences. He’s shared these stories with me multiple times and they never change. My dad also never tends to lie so I believe every single word. I’ll share one here, and submit another for post length sake. One night, their parents and other siblings had gone to church and they stayed behind. They decided to walk to a gas station and headed out of the house. He said it was around twilight, so there was a bit of light but it was fading fast. They both were suddenly aware of a large saucer-like object that was hanging directly above them. They only had made it a few yards or so from their front door. The object lit up a bright light that enveloped them. My dad told me that the light was so bright that everything appeared as even brighter than daylight. This freaked them out so much that they ran as fast as they could and barricaded themselves in the house. Through the windows, they still could see the whole yard lit up with the light from the object. All this time, they heard nothing but silence. Eventually, the light went out. They phoned their mom from the house, completely hysterical, begging her to come back home. My dad is extremely positive this was a UFO and it scared the absolute shit out of them. It wouldn’t be the last time they encountered a UFO in close proximity together. – Astra, starseedrising
